Supportive Induction

Our new starters are welcomed through a comprehensive and thoughtfully designed induction programme that ensures they feel prepared, supported, and connected from day one.  

Every induction includes key elements to help staff feel confident in their role and aligned with our Trust values. While the specific content and pace of induction will vary depending on the role, all colleagues can expect:  

  • A structured introduction to the Trust and their academy, including our vision, values, relational culture and expectations  

  • Role-specific training, ensuring staff understand the systems, processes, and key responsibilities relevant to their position  

  • Safeguarding, health & safety and mandatory training, ensuring compliance and confidence in key aspects of the role  

  • Opportunities to connect with teams, ask questions, and start building strong relationships within the Trust community  

This supportive and relational approach ensures all staff regardless of their role, has the foundation they need to thrive, grow, and make a meaningful contribution.

We are extremely proud that our academies have been successful in achieving the Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS). 

We also offer personal support through our confidential Staff Counselling Service and have Mental Health First Aiders available across the Trust to provide guidance and care when needed.

Annual Staff Survey

Employee voice matters to us. Each year, we survey our staff to understand what’s working well and where we can improve. Feedback is carefully reviewed at both Trust and academy levels so we can listen, respond, and continually enhance the working environment for our staff.

We are a learning organisation where everyone can reach their full potential. We provide professional development, mentoring, and coaching to help everyone grow, thrive, and make a real difference for our children and families. 

Many of our leaders began their careers within the Trust, reflecting our commitment to nurturing talent and supporting staff to take on new challenges and leadership opportunities. We are creating early career pathways through apprenticeships, work experience, placements and internships, giving young people and new staff the chance to learn and develop. 

Our Learning Development and Research Hub

Our Learning, Development and Research Hub aims to bring together our exceptional expertise with a Trust wide research-informed CPD that allows our staff to access flexibly. 

We will also provide updates about the research we are undertaking in our academies around the necessary adaptations to cognitive science informed pedagogies needed for children with SEND and SEMH.  

We are carrying out action research in two of our academies on effective deployment of teaching assistants. This work across the course of the year shows collaborative working with both teachers and the teaching assistants in order to improve pupil outcomes.  Furthermore, we are running a series of SEND pedagogy sessions at another one of our academies to upskill teachers in research-informed pedagogies. Finally, we are curating a library of brilliant CPD resources that leaders can assign to staff, personalising their professional development.
