Shaping Portsmouth - Redwood Park Academy

Redwood Park Academy students worked in teams to develop their products for the Shaping Futures Conference. Below is more information on what each team did.

Eastney Team made a Portsmouth 100 magnet. This sold for £4.99 at the conference.

The team had worked well together creating lots of different designs of magnet but then voting on the design and pricing of the item. They chose a picture of the Spinnaker Tower and embellished it with colourful stars.

Castle Team made a water bottle printed with hand-drawn pictures of the highlights of Portsmouth, such as Mick's burger van, seagulls and chips!

 They sold for £6.50 at the conference and sold out in 10 minutes! I believe there is talk of Wightlink placing an order for them to be sold at the hovercraft and ferry ports (watch this space!!)

Museum Team made a Lion tote bag. As part of the Portsmouth 100 celebrations, there will be 40 lion sculptures placed around the city during Summer 2026, all designed by different artists. The team drew inspiration from these lions and created a bag featuring their own lion designs. They sold for £10 each, and they were taking extra orders for them on the day of the conference too!

Dockyard Team made a foldable bag from recycled fabrics. They sourced old pillowcases, dresses, shirts, and shower curtains from family, friends, and charity shops, and turned them into handmade bags.

They sold for £10 each at the conference. They sold out before the market time at the conference had finished!
